Dive into the Future at the VRTO Spatial Media World Conference this July 10–11, 2024

Canada may be known internationally for its musical artists (like Justin Bieber and Celine Dion) and actors (Jim Carrey and Ryan Gosling), but we have a serious mixed reality scene too. If you want to learn from the industry’s top talent pool or snag the rare chance to meet them face to face and ask the questions you’ve always wanted to know, you’ll want to be at VRTO this July 10–11, 2024.

It’s a smaller-scale event, but small doesn’t refer to the quality but to the accessibility of it all. This means you can actually check out all the talks and take in the expo area. Talent comes from around the world to experience it.

Big tech events often focus on shiny (not necessarily relevant) names and sponsors, which means the content is pay-to-play. They try to balance it, but a big production means big invoices. It’s a trade-off that VRTO doesn’t make.

In my humble Canadian opinion, the talks are the highlight. Speakers aren’t allowed to parade on stage and advertise stuff. They’re there to share their story, give you insights you would have to learn the hard way and share the latest that’s going on, which you could potentially leverage in what you’re working on.

This year’s topics include:

  • Virtual Museums, Archaeology, and Cultural Anthropology
  • NERFS/Gaussian/Dolphin Splatter Live Virtual Performance Training
  • The Revenge of LBEs (Location-Based Experiences)
  • OpenXR and multimodal affordances past, present, and future
  • Generative AI for Virtual Production
  • Web3D/WebXR Optimization and Advancements
  • Hyper-Reality 2.0
  • Projection-Mapping and Immersive Interactive Environments
  • The Next Phase of LLMs (Light-Field Displays) and GANs (Generative Adversarial Networks)
  • Digital Humans
  • (XR) Simulation for the Next Generation Flight Navigation and UAM (urban air mobility)
  • New Advancements and Content Approaches for AR/MR (Augmented Reality/Mixed Reality)
  • Haptics, Gestural input
  • Art and AR
  • Low code VR, 3D asset creation

Speakers Include:

First!
